3. Improving life skill, so that in the daily life student can be more independent


The Lack of Active Learning
1. Need the teacher's creativity to get resources
2. Need more intensive control in directing student
3. Need to prepare the teaching aid

Active Learning is.......

Active learning is meant to exposure the use of potency which is owned by the learner so that all the learners can gain the satisfying result of learning. Besides that it's also meant to keep the learner's attention remain on the process of learning.

The learning process basically is a stimulated giving to the learners, in order to get active response from them. The response will be stronger if the stimulations is also strong. The examinations of the stimulation can carry on the connectio between the stimulations and the response so the response which is made can be strong. This will give a strong impressions to the learner, that they can maitai the response

Active learning basiccally tries to strengten and carry on the stimulations and the learner's response in learning that the learning process will be a nice activity, not a boring activity for the learners. By giving the strategy of active learning to the learness can help their memory.

Active learning study is centered on the learner's knowledge. The pressure can be very comfortable. Use all the senses and potency of learner itself. Use many methods, use many media which is matched with the existed knowledge.

The Suggestions About The Effort of Implementing the Concept

Connected with the effort of implementing the concept before, L. Dee Fink also brings three suggestions, namely:
1.Developing the kind of learning experience
-> By making small groups and ask them to make decisious or answering a questions focused on speaking
->Decide the way that students can be involved in many kinds of authentic dialogue with others, not with their classmates in website, through e-mail, or in real life.
->Decide the way to help students who can be able to observe something that they want to learn
->Decide the way which can make students do what they are learning, directly or indirectly
2. To get the benefits of power of interaction
From the four learning forms above, each has its own value but if the four learning forms are combined correctly, it can give richer effect of learning to the students

Active learning with experience

→ Observing
This happens in which the students can see and listen when other people doing something which is involved with what they are learning. Besides observing the perfomance they are doing, the students can also be asked to listen and see from others. Students can also be asked to observe other phenomenas, connected with the topic they are learning.

Observing can be done directly or indirectly. Direct observation means the students are asked to observe the real activity or situation directly. Whereas the indirect observations, students are asked to do the observations towards the situation or activity through the dialogue from real situation, studying the case or asked to watch film.


→ Doing
This activity refers to learning process in which student really do something obviously.

Active Learning with Dialogue

Dialogue with self:
This form of learning where the students do reflective thinking about a topic. They ask themselves, what is being thought or must be thought, what they feek , thinking about my own thinking in a wide range of questions, not only just involved with cognitive aspect.

Dialogue with others :
In traditional learning, students read text book, listen to a talk, naturally they are conversing by listening from others but in limited way because there is no reverse in it and exchanging thought.

Another type of more dinamic dialogue is by dividing students in small groups, in which the students can discuss about the topic of lesson intensively. And involving students in a situations of special dialogue, the teacher can develop creative ways such as asking students to have dialogue with practicers, experts and so on, either directly in the class or outsidethe class through direct interactive or writing.

An Active Learning System

The learning system which has been used so far is a passive learning system. But it seems that the active learning system has been the first choice in education practice since the effort of national education reformationis beig done around nineties. And it until now teachers keep on being encouraged to use the concept of active learning to the students.

According to L. Dee fink, active learning consist of two main components namely experience, included the activity of doing and observing an dialogue, included self dialogue and others.
